PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Pena (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Sailo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jonathan Pena!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Adam Sailo!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Taro Takaoka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pena misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Sailo tries to clinch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Pena fails with a takedown attempt.
Sailo fails in his attempt to clinch.

Pena drives through and clinches with Sailo against the cage.

Pena jumps guard.
Sailo trying to control but Pena is working from the bottom.
Sailo won't allow Pena to get back to his feet.
Sailo wants to control from the top but Pena keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sailo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Sailo won't allow Pena to sweep him here.
Pena is working hard here to advance position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sailo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pena swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sailo wants to control from the top but Pena keeps moving.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Adam Sailo wasn't active enough on the ground.
Sailo throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Pena.
No luck for Pena with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jonathan Pena. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pena is looking to clinch but Sailo is avoiding it.
Sailo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pena tries to avoid it but Sailo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pena to the ground. Pena escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sailo shoots in and drives through. Pena sprawls well.
Pena fails with the takedown.
Sailo dives in and grabs Pena's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pena pushes down on Sailo's head and hops out.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Sailo enables Pena to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sailo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Pena will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Pena is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Sailo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pena doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Sailo is tightening it up a little... Pena has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Pena reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Pena taps out! Nice BJJ there by Sailo!
