PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between AJ Harvey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Austin McCoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harvey comes to the cage accompanied by Dangerzone. McCoy has chosen Voices as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Harvey clinches with his opponent.
Harvey really is a fat lump.

Harvey works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
McCoy throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Harvey prevents McCoy from getting back to his feet.

McCoy manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from McCoy.

McCoy closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Harvey quickly recovers to half guard.
McCoy is pressing down on Harvey's thigh, looking to free his foot. Harvey is holding on for now.

Harvey wants to improve his position but McCoy is controlling well.
McCoy thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Harvey's head.
Harvey might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

McCoy is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
McCoy wants to stand but Harvey has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Harvey is trying to maintain the position but McCoy is very close to passing his half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. McCoy connects with a nice short shot to Harvey's temple.

McCoy seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Harvey wants to control but McCoy is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Still in half guard, McCoy seems content to control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - McCoy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

I really don't envy McCoy right now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Harvey lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Harvey.

Harvey working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. McCoy is doing well to defend. Harvey seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! McCoy is forced to tap and this one is over!
