The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rude has James up against the cage in a clinch.
Rude wants to break the clinch but can't.
James tries to circle away but Rude has him pinned against the cage.
Rude could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
James wants to stall.
James is trying to break the clinch but Rude has him pressed against the cage.
James misses with a punch on the inside.
James is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

James drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Rude gets the underhooks and prevents it.

James is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Rude keeps control of James as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
James is trying to break free.
Rude scores with a hook to the body.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for James.

Rude pulls James into guard.

Rude looking for a guillotine here but James defends easily.
Rude lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for James!

James is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
James wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rude looking for the choke from the back.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
What can James do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Rude lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
James wants to escape the position.

Rude keeps control of the position as James tries to break free.
Rude avoiding James 's attempts to control his hands.
James tries to escape but Rude has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
James looks gassed!
Rude tries to get the hooks in deep but James pushed the leg off.
What can James do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Rude scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. James is looking for a way out.

It looks like Rick James has been cut.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
James wants to get back to his feet.
Rude controls the action.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

James is trying to defend against the choke here but Rude has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Rude Tightens the hold and James taps out furiously! Rude displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
