The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
da Silva moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

It looks like Kair Drogo has been cut.
Sebastiao da Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

da Silva manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Drogo on his heels. He'll look to pass Drogo's guard now, I'm sure.

da Silva drops back, looking for a kneebar! Drogo looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Drogo looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Drogo!

da Silva wants to control but Drogo postures up.
Drogo throws an elbow but da Silva slips to the side and avoids it well.
Drogo remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Drogo could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
