The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortega throws the kick towards the body but Kesler avoids it.
Kesler moves in looking to clinch but Ortega pushes him off.
Ortega tries to bum rush Kesler with a series of wild strikes but Kesler uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Kesler drives through and clinches with Ortega against the ropes.
Kesler on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Kesler avoids the elbow strike from Ortega, against the ropes.
Ortega misses with a knee strike.
Kesler fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Kesler gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Ortega is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Kesler shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Kesler stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Kesler avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kesler is looking to clinch but Ortega is avoiding it.

and Kesler counters with a series of strikes. Ortega will be more careful next time no doubt.

and Kesler counters with a single leg into guard. Ortega didn't expect that.

Kesler stands up from Ortega's guard - Kesler perhaps looking for a knockout. Kesler throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ortega's waist but Ortega gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kesler off to one side.

and Kesler counters with a nice uppercut.
Kesler throws a combination that misses

and Ortega counters by moving into the clinch.
Kesler wants a takedown but no success here.
Kesler takes an elbow to the forehead.
Kesler has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ortega avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

The cut above Kevin Kesler's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Ortega could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Kesler wants to break the clinch but can't.
Ortega will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Kesler up against the ropes.

Kevin Kesler's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Kesler jumps guard but Ortega stands there with Kesler around his waist. Kesler gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
