The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw stuffs the takedown attempt from Maia. Maia gets slowly back to his feet.

Maia shoots in for a takedown but Shaw shows good takedown defense.
Shaw looks to land a combination but Maia avoids it well.
Maia uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shaw.
Shaw misses with a two punch combination.

Maia fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shaw sprawls well initially but Maia persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Shaw wants to control but Maia is keeping busy.
