Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Giant Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Holligan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burns comes into the arena with Down With The Sickness- Disturbed blaring out of the sound system. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Giant Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, James Holligan!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Holligan lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Holligan.


It looks like Giant Burns has been cut.
Burns fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Holligan manages to avoid it.

Burns tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Burns is breathing heavily.
Burns sneaks back into half guard.
Burns wants to get back to full guard but Holligan has mounted him!
Holligan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Burns. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Holligan trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Burns tries to reverse the position but Holligan maintains control.
Burns is working hard here to advance position.

Burns is in all sorts of trouble here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Holligan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Burns is looking to escape.
Burns regains half guard.
Holligan tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Burns.
Holligan prevents Burns from improving his position.

Holligan is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Holligan moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Burns.
Holligan tries to stand but Burns is controlling his head.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Holligan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Holligan counters with a nice double leg into side control. Burns won't be happy with that.
Burns takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Burns is looking for a sweep.
Burns sneaks back into half guard.
Burns wants to get back to full guard.
Holligan looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The fighters are battling for position here. Burns manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Burns is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Holligan wants to control from the top but Burns keeps moving.

Holligan stands up and waves to Burns to follow him.

Holligan throws a leg kick but Burns checks it.
Burns fails with the takedown

and Holligan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Holligan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Burns does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Burns is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Holligan pulls his head out easily.
Holligan seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Burns is looking for a sweep. Holligan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Holligan scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Holligan is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Holligan dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Giant Burns's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Burns on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Holligan clinches with his opponent.
with the fighters clinched against the cage, Holligan creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Burns throws a left and a right that both miss

and Holligan counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Burns's guard now.
Burns has a closed guard, preventing Holligan from standing up.

Burns looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Holligan. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Burns looking to hit a scissor sweep but Holligan is one step ahead there.

Burns has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Holligan should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Burns has tightened it up now! Holligan should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Giant Burns!
