PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stephen Dyzer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abdi Muhammed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dyzer comes to the cage accompanied by New Divide. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Stephen Dyzer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Abdi Muhammed!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muhammed keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Muhammed misses with a body shot.
Muhammed throws a left and a right that both miss
and Dyzer counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Dyzer fails with the takedown.
Muhammed scores with the left hand. Dyzer knows he should have avoided that one.


It looks like Stephen Dyzer has been cut.
Dyzer throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Muhammed sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Dyzer takes a swing at Muhammed's ribcage but misses.
Dyzer jabs Muhammed to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Muhammed keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Dyzer shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Muhammed's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Dyzer tries to free his leg and advance position but Muhammed is retaining full guard.
Dyzer postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Muhammed really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dyzer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dyzer won't allow Muhammed to sweep him here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dyzer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Dyzer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Dyzer keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Muhammed's head.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dyzer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Muhammed can do anything to dispel that myth.

Dyzer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Dyzer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Muhammed works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Dyzer wants to pass the guard but Muhammed is keeping the position.

Dyzer missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Dyzer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Muhammed swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dyzer trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Muhammed is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Dyzer postures up in Muhammed's guard and throws a big left but Muhammed blocks it.
Muhammed can't keep his opponent in guard - Dyzer advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dyzer winds up and cracks Muhammed with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dyzer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Muhammed keeps working.

Dyzer is looking for a kimura but Muhammed is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dyzer to get the leverage.
Muhammed has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dyzer is working away from the top position though.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dyzer is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Muhammed has managed to free his arm - good work.

Muhammed is defending against the submission attempts here by Dyzer.
Muhammed trying to hold on to Dyzer's head to control him but Dyzer postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Muhammed is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Dyzer is staying active.

Dyzer is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Muhammed has managed to free his arm - good work.
Muhammed wants to get back to full guard but Dyzer has passed into side control.
Muhammed prevents Dyzer from improving position.
Muhammed is working to avoid the ground and pound but Dyzer connects with a decent elbow.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dyzer tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dyzer has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Dyzer advances nicely into full mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Dyzer throws out a loose jab but Muhammed uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dyzer lands a jab to the nose.
Muhammed misses with a wild body shot.
Muhammed throws a leg kick that misses.
Dyzer connects with a right hand. Muhammed shakes it off.
Dyzer scores with the left hand. Muhammed knows he should have avoided that one.
Dyzer misses with a wild body shot.
The fighters circle momentarily. Dyzer darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Muhammed throws a right hand that Dyzer ducks under and follows up with a left that Dyzer also avoids with ease.
Dyzer scores with a hook to the body. Muhammed takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Muhammed misses with a lunging right hand
enabling Dyzer to counter with a crisp jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dyzer moves away from the strike by Muhammed.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Muhammed throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dyzer stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Dyzer takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Dyzer goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Abdi Muhammed has been cut.
Muhammed throws a one two combo.
Dyzer just misses with a punch to the body.
Muhammed pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Muhammed looks to score with a jab to the body but Dyzer is just out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dyzer. Muhammed does a little dance to reset his feet.
Muhammed digs a good hook to Dyzer's body.
Abdi Muhammed is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Dyzer fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Dyzer swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Dyzer closes the distance and clinches up with Muhammed, looking for a takedown. Dyzer pushes Muhammed against the cage but Muhammed circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Dyzer lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Dyzer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Muhammed misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Muhammed connects with a nice looking jab.
Muhammed lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Muhammed throws a shot from downtown. Dyzer moves away and avoids it.
Dyzer swings for the body but Muhammed moves out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dyzer swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Muhammed. Dyzer does a little dance to reset his feet.
Dyzer scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Muhammed lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Dyzer backs up against the cage.
Dyzer moves out of range of the strikes.
Sloppy strikes from Dyzer. Those never looked like landing.
Dyzer has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


Dyzer is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Muhammed plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Dyzer to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Dyzer just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Abdi Muhammed!
