The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marconi shoots in looking for a takedown but Mercier manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Marconi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Nice takedown defense from Mercier. No joy for Marconi on that attempt.
Marconi will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Santino Marconi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Horrible takedown by Marconi or perhaps it was just good defense by Mercier which made him look bad.
Marconi gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mercier counters with a nice body shot.
Mercier jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Mercier connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Marconi momentarily.
Mercier moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Marconi is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mercier lands a glancing blow to the side of Marconi's head.
Oh Marconi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mercier drops Marconi with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Marconi! Mercier dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
