PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Celso Neto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wrassle Coach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wrassle Coach told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Celso Neto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Wrassle Coach!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neto tries to clinch but Coach moves away

and Coach counters with a shoot takedown. Neto fights it but they end up in guard.
Neto wants to sweep here but Coach controlling him for the moment.
Coach postures up.
Neto has momentary wrist control but Coach slips an elbow through the middle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neto is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Neto trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Coach prevents Neto from getting back to his feet.
Neto tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Neto is looking to stand up but Coach isn't so interested in that idea.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Coach accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Neto is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Coach is controlling him.
Coach is standing up over Neto. Neto looks to escape but Coach dives into side control.
Neto is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neto tries to improve position but can't.
Coach landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Neto trying to remain calm as Coach controls from the top position.
Coach trying to control the action but Neto is working from the bottom.
Neto tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Coach wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Coach works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Coach is putting a hurting on Neto here, landing some big shots from side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Neto sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Coach looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Neto with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Coach is nestled in close to Neto, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Coach is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Coach scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Coach working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Coach is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Neto looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Coach is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Neto is trying to get back to full guard.
Neto is trying to stand back up but Coach is controlling him
Neto is trying to maintain the position but Coach is very close to passing his half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Coach seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wrassle Coach dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Coach tries to score a power double leg takedown but Neto sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Coach somewhat.

Coach scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Neto is trying to stand.
Neto tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Coach manages to move to mount!
Coach breaks from Neto's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Neto is trying to stand.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Coach postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! Neto is out cold - huge knockout for Coach!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Wrassle Coach!
