PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Khalifman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dick Trikkle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Dick Trikkle was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Khalifman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dick Trikkle!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick lands from Khalifman.

Trikkle tries to keep at a distance but Khalifman has taken the fight into the clinch.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Alexander Khalifman.
Khalifman moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Khalifman won't let Trikkle get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Trikkle has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Khalifman finds it's way round the side to connect with Trikkle's head.

Khalifman tries to free his leg and advance position but Trikkle is retaining full guard.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Khalifman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Trikkle tries to close the distance and clinch but Khalifman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

The strikes coming from Khalifman are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Khalifman shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Trikkle's guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Khalifman is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Trikkle enables Khalifman to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Trikkle manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Trikkle chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Khalifman can pounce on him.

Khalifman connects with a leg kick. Trikkle looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Trikkle throws a series of punches but Khalifman moves out of range.

Khalifman shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Trikkle manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Trikkle has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Khalifman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Khalifman is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Alexander Khalifman showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Khalifman has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
