Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryan McEvoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Saunders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Saunders!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Donald Grub and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McEvoy fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Saunders checks it well.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from McEvoy. Saunders shrugs it off though.
McEvoy throws a head kick that half lands.


It looks like John Saunders has been cut.
Some wild striking there from Saunders.

Saunders rushes McEvoy and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McEvoy's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Saunders takes a knee to the side of the body.
McEvoy tries to land a knee to the head but Saunders blocks with his arms.

Saunders is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
McEvoy pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Saunders throws a series of punches but McEvoy avoids them all with ease.

McEvoy has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Saunders.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McEvoy scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
No joy there for Saunders, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Saunders thuds a left hand into McEvoy's body.
McEvoy throws a poor cross that misses
and McEvoy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and Saunders counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Oh McEvoy is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
McEvoy bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Saunders comes at him with an uppercut from hell! McEvoy falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! McEvoy was out before he hit the floor!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). John Saunders!
John Saunders is the new welterweight champion!
A relieved looking John Saunders thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
