Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Unitas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergio Morales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morales has chosen Fugees Ready or Not as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Unitas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sergio Morales!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jonathan Paton and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morales motions for Unitas to come forward. Morales throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Unitas shoots for a takedown but Morales saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Unitas takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Unitas throws a low kick but Morales avoids it.
Unitas avoids the body shot from Morales.
Some wild striking there from Morales.

Unitas bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Unitas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Morales keeps working.
Morales manages to get back to half guard.
Morales avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Unitas.
Unitas with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Morales wants to control but Unitas is keeping busy and won't allow it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Morales might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Unitas kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Unitas connects with a nice short shot to Morales's temple.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Unitas is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Morales wants to control but Unitas is keeping busy.
Unitas not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Unitas is looking to take a break and control but Morales is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Unitas seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Unitas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Unitas thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Morales's head.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

It looks like David Unitas has been cut.
Morales fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Unitas has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Unitas stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Morales.

Sergio Morales showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

and Morales counters with a nice body shot.

Unitas looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Unitas seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Morales does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Unitas is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Morales is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Unitas lands a nice short elbow.
Morales gets back to full guard.
Unitas wants to control from the top but Morales keeps moving.
Morales pulls Unitas in close to prevent any damage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Unitas is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Morales has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Unitas will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

David Unitas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Unitas goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Morales has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Unitas but great work by Morales.

Unitas is trying to control Morales's posture but Morales avoids it.
Unitas tries to buck Morales off but Morales is having none of it.
Unitas is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
Morales tries to score with some ground and pound. Unitas controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

David Unitas showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Unitas has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
