Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andre Perkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicholas Northe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Northe changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Perkins fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Northe sprawls well initially but Perkins persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Northe feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Northe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Perkins has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Northe clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
I would not like to be Northe right now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Perkins is riding his opponent, not letting Northe buck him off.
Perkins is trying to stick to Northe's back but Northe is turning into Perkins. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Perkins's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Northe.

Northe drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Northe jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Perkins throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Northe was covering up waiting for the punch and Perkins finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Perkins seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Northe for as long as he can get away with.
