Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cole Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heihachi Hayashida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cole Thompson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Heihachi Hayashida!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yuuki Gou and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayashida pushes Thompson away with a front kick.
Thompson wants to clinch but Hayashida slips to the side
and Hayashida counters with a thumping low kick.
Cole Thompson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thompson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Thompson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hayashida but Hayashida pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hayashida pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Hayashida slips a jab and a cross from Thompson.
Hayashida throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Hayashida thuds his shin into the meat of Thompson's side.
Thompson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hayashida sprawls well. Hayashida wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Thompson gets slowly back to his feet.
Hayashida dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hayashida waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Thompson.
Thompson tries for a takedown but Hayashida sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cole Thompson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Thompson throws a series of punches but Hayashida moves out of range.

Hayashida rushes Thompson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Hayashida prevents the takedown attempt.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Hayashida obliges.

Hayashida manages to break the clinch.
That kick from Hayashida tenderised Thompson's leg. Thompson is trying to keep his angry face on.
Hayashida misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Thompson.
Hayashida scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Thompson moves out of range as Hayashida strikes.
Hayashida moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Thompson is looking to chop away at Hayashida's legs.
Hayashida swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hayashida tries a head kick but it misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hayashida tries to land a leg kick but Thompson saw it coming and moves away.
Thompson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hayashida misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Thompson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hayashida swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Thompson closes the distance and clinches.

Hayashida pulls guard successfully.

Hayashida has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Thompson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hayashida working a defensive guard but Thompson manages to pass into side control anyway.

Thompson has an Americana. Hayashida didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Thompson is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Thompson hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
