This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Volkov tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Smith fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Volkov sprawls well initially but Smith persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Volkov is not content to let Smith control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Leon Smith dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Volkov shoots for a takedown but Smith saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Smith moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Sergey Volkov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Smith cracks Volkov with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Volkov stalks Smith and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Smith's face. Smith staggers backwards, shaken.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smith looks to land a right hand but Volkov moved out of range.
Volkov tries to clinch but Smith is having none of it.

Smith closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Volkov did well to prevent Smith getting side control.
Volkov is still in real trouble! Can Smith finish him?
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Leon Smith wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Smith circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Volkov drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Smith follows Volkov to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

After winning the bout, Leon Smith thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
