The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Persson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Persson shoots in looking for a takedown. Cavaricci tries to sprawl out of it but Persson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cavaricci manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Persson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cavaricci's waist but Cavaricci gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Persson off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fredrik Persson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
