Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between JB Holmes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Brecht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brecht has chosen Dropkick Murphys - Warriors Code as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Patrick Brecht was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holmes throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Holmes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Brecht tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brecht has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Holmes misses with a jab, cross combination.

Brecht closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

and Holmes counters with a three punch combo that has Brecht backing up. Brecht nods at Holmes to acknowledge the strikes.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Holmes lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Brecht backs up against the cage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Brecht has hold of one of Holmes's legs. Holmes is fighting the takedown attempt but Brecht gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
