Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Tubby Hayes!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayes tries to clinch there but Battle circles away.
A jab from Hayes does it's job there.
Battle throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hayes misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hayes uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Battle.
A slow jab from Hayes misses its intended target.
A punch combination from Battle misses.
Battle lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hayes circles away quickly and effectively.
Hayes misses with a double jab.
Battle's corner calls for a 1-2. Battle obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Hayes thumps Battle with a low kick.
Nice shot lands for Hayes.
Battle throws an overhand right that lands on Hayes's shoulder, as Hayes tries to avoid the shot.

Hayes throws a jab but it's blocked by Battle.
Hayes misses with a leg kick
and Battle counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hayes throws a right hand that Battle ducks under and follows up with a left that Battle also avoids with ease.

Hayes gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Hayes is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.
Battle wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Battle manages to break the clinch.
Battle misses with a straight left.
Battle lands a right hook to the body.
Hayes misses with a wild body shot.
Battle throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Hayes on the side of the head.

Hayes ducks under a wild hook from Battle.

Hayes decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Battle is looking to improve his position.
Hayes wants to take a breather but Battle is having none of it.
Battle wants to get back to his feet.
Battle avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hayes.

Battle moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Battle tries to kick Hayes off but Hayes keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Hayes not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Hayes thows a huge punch but Battle dodges it nicely.
Hayes throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Hayes working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Hayes trying to control from half guard but Battle is working away.

Hayes is trying to work for a kimura but Battle is defending well.

Hayes seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Battle does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hayes trying to control the action but Battle is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tubby Hayes dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Hayes takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Hayes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hayes scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Hayes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Battle as he jumps to the side.
Battle throws a jab when Hayes was well out of range.
Hayes misses the body punch
and Battle counters with a nice body shot.
Nice straight punches there by Battle. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Battle.
Battle misses with an uppercut
and Hayes counters with a straight right hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Battle fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Battle scores with a three punch combo!
Hayes is breathing heavily.
Battle waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hayes.
Hayes misses with a head kick.
Hayes shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Battle misses with a body shot.
Hayes takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Hayes misses with a body shot
and Battle counters with a straight right hand.
Battle cracks Hayes with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Nice shot lands for Battle.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Battle throws a body punch but Hayes moves out of range.
Battle tests Hayes's chin there with a solid looking shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Battle connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Battle scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Hayes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Battle as he avoids it easily.
The fighters circle momentarily. Battle darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Hayes fails with a takedown attempt.
Dre Battle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tubby Hayes.
Hayes takes one on the button.
Battle connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Nice cross by Battle.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hayes looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Nice uppercut lands for Battle. That snapped Hayes's head back.


Hayes is rocked!
Battle lands with a nice combination. Hayes backs away looking to recover.
Hayes is still on wobbly legs! Can Battle finish him?
Battle stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Battle wants it to stay on the feet.
Hayes shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Battle defends it nicely.
Hayes needs to keep his hands up - Battle had a free shot at his head there.
Hayes looks up at the clock. Bad move! Battle lands a right hand from hell, dropping Hayes. Battle pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dre Battle!
