Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kenji Okami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Hitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sam Hitz is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okami throws a series of punches but Hitz avoids them all with ease.
Kenji Okami seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Hitz counters with a lovely straight right hand!

and Hitz counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Okami is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Okami ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hitz moves away.

Hitz moves into range and clinches up with Okami.

Okami can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hitz controls the pace.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Hitz looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Okami with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Hitz seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Hitz is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Okami still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Okami has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
