The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Giaa is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Thompson circles away from the clinch attempt.

so Thompson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Thompson stays in close to Giaa's body and controls the position.

Thompson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Thompson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Thompson wants to work for an arm triangle but Giaa is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
