The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phillips changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Lukens thows a left - swing and a miss!

Phillips closes the distance and pushes Lukens back into the cage.

Lukens's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Lukens tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Phillips paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Phillips lands a nice hook to Lukens's body. Lukens takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Phillips uses his free foot to push down on Lukens's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Lukens.

Phillips postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lukens looks a forlorn figure.

Lukens tries to lock up and control but Phillips gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Phillips cracks Lukens with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
