Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Hilga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie comes to the cage accompanied by Born To Win. Ryan Hilga looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Gracie gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Gracie is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Hilga must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Hilga wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hilga is trying to work for a kimura but Gracie is defending well.
Hilga really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gracie is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Gracie lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hilga!
Hilga is trying desperately to improve position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gracie is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Hilga has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Gracie misses with a head shot.
Hilga tries to reverse the position but Gracie maintains control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hilga has his foot on Gracie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gracie works his way back into a safe position though.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hilga is on top in guard.

Hilga drops back looking for a leg! Gracie is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gracie manages to kick Hilga off! Hilga jumps back into Gracie's guard.

Hilga is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gracie doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hilga.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Gracie tries for a takedown but Hilga circles away easily
and Hilga makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and Hilga counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ryan Hilga will probably get the nod.

Gracie has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Hilga is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Gracie yanks on the arm and Hilga is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Gracie.
