PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dale Rhys (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Bent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dale Rhys!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jason Bent!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rhys avoids the body shot from Bent.
Rhys tries a head kick but it misses.
Bent fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Rhys lands with a kick to the ribs.
The fighters circle momentarily. Bent darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Bent connects with a good right hand that stumbles Rhys. Rhys circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bent rushes Rhys and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Rhys tries to break the clinch but Bent is controlling the position.

Rhys's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rhys misses with a head kick.
Rhys uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Bent.
Bent ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rhys moves away.
Bent avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Bent does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Rhys tries a head kick but it misses.
Bent lands with a thumping leg kick.
Rhys lands a right hook to the body.
Bent tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rhys was well out of range. Poor timing from Bent.

Bent drops Rhys with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Rhys looks back up at him and smiles so Bent waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Rhys is rocked!

It looks like Dale Rhys has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rhys takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Jason Bent seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rhys is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bent fakes the body blow, causing Rhys to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Rhys goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

After the fight, Jason Bent was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
