PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alek Zombow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Shuler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Zombow might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Wchodzisz na ring!. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Left hook, right uppercut from Zombow.
Shuler tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Zombow paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Shuler misses with a few strikes there.

Zombow bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Zombow lands a nice shot that snaps Shuler's head back.
Shuler rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Zombow moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Zombow swings for the body but Shuler moves out of range.
Zombow ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Shuler is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Zombow is defending well for now.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Zombow blocks the elbow strike.
Zombow has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Shuler is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Shuler escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Zombow lands a glancing blow to the side of Shuler's head.

Zombow gets tackled into the cage by Shuler. Shuler maintains the clinch.
Shuler gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Zombow is looking to break free of the clinch but Shuler has double underhooks.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Shuler creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Shuler throws a wild body kick that Zombow sees coming a mile off.

Zombow has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Shuler finds it's way round the side to connect with Zombow's head.
Zombow is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Shuler tries to clinch but Zombow moves out of range.
Shuler shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Zombow as he jumps to the side.

Shuler tries to throw a body punch but Zombow avoids it by throwing Shuler back against the cage.

Shuler lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Shuler throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Zombow blocks it with crossed arms.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Shuler.

Shuler pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Shuler misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Shuler throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Shuler misses with a jab, cross combination.
Shuler shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Zombow as he avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Will Shuler dominated that round.
That's time! Zombow's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Shuler moves into the clinch.
Shuler is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Shuler crunches a lovely knee into Zombow's ribcage.

Shuler escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A head kick misses from Shuler.
Zombow stuffs the takedown.
Zombow dodges the punch combination from Shuler.
Will Shuler seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Shuler tries to close the distance and clinch up but Zombow swats him away and circles back towards the center.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shuler goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Horrible takedown by Shuler or perhaps it was just good defense by Zombow which made him look bad.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Shuler will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Zombow has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Shuler is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Zombow throws a hook to the side of Shuler's head but Shuler sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Well Shuler has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
