Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Owen Poll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Dyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dyer has chosen Spitfire-Prodigy as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Owen Poll!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Dyer!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Poll clinches up against the cage.
Nice elbow from Dyer.
Dyer keeps control of Poll as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Dyer keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Poll's efforts to push away.
Poll tries to break the clinch but Dyer is controlling the position.
Poll is pressed up against the cage. Dyer has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Poll down to the mat. Poll avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Poll tried to score with a low kick but Dyer checks it.
Dyer checks a leg kick.
Dyer tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
The crowd cheers as Poll lands an impressive looking overhand right. Dyer doesn't seem phased though.
A head kick misses from Poll.
Poll throws a head kick but Dyer moves out of range.
Poll will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Poll lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dyer circles away quickly and effectively.
Poll cracks Dyer with an open hand slap.
Dyer fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Poll scores with a nice right hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dyer showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Poll.
A combination from Poll does no damage.
Dyer dives in and grabs Poll's left leg, looking for a takedown. Poll pushes down on Dyer's head and hops out.
Owen Poll has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Dyer.
Poll tests Dyer's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dyer.

Dyer clinches with his opponent.
Poll takes an elbow to the forehead.
Dyer taking a breather.
Poll makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.


Dyer is rocked!
Poll wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Dyer has him pressed against the cage.
Dyer is still on wobbly legs! Can Poll finish him?
Dyer tries for a takedown but Poll manages to get underhooks.
Dyer has Poll pressed against the cage, preventing Poll from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Poll tries to land a knee to the head but Dyer blocks with his arms.
Poll is trying to break the clinch but Dyer is controlling him.
Poll lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Poll wants to break free but Dyer has control.
Poll tries to break free but Dyer pushes him back against the cage.
Poll tries to circle away but Dyer has him pinned against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Poll wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Dyer has him pressed against the cage.
Poll is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Poll is trying to break free.
Poll using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Dyer has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Poll lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Dyer to his knees! Poll keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Owen Poll!
Our winner, Owen Poll, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
