Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Urijah Samuel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Samuel has chosen Knock Yourself Out as his entrance music. Urijah Samuel told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carwin throws a big shot that misses.
Samuel keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Carwin.
Carwin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Carwin misses with a double jab.
Samuel wants to clinch but Carwin slips to the side
and Carwin counters with a left and a right that stings Samuel.
Carwin misses with a combination
and Samuel counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Carwin thows a left - swing and a miss!
Samuel fails in his attempt to clinch.
Samuel throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Samuel gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Carwin counters with a left to the body.
Samuel misses with a hook

and Carwin counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Samuel!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Carwin scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Carwin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Samuel on the ground.
The referee warns Samuel that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

It looks like Urijah Samuel has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carwin scoring with strikes but Samuel is staying in there.
Carwin lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Samuel is rocked!

That has opened up Urijah Samuel's cut even more.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Urijah Samuel's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
