Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edwards with a poor takedown
and Velasquez counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Velasquez not doing much here.
Nice strikes from Velasquez there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Velasquez winds up and cracks Edwards with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Edwards is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Velasquez scores with a couple of nice shots.
Velasquez is looking to take a break and control but Edwards is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Edwards is looking for a sweep. Velasquez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Velasquez working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Velasquez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Edwards blocking the ground and pound attempt from Velasquez.

Velasquez looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Velasquez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Edwards with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Edwards avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Velasquez.
Velasquez trying to control the action but Edwards is working from the bottom.
Velasquez frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Velasquez cracks Edwards with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
