The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ellis looks to clinch
and Nielsen counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Nielsen scoring with some ground and pound.
Nielsen slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Nielsen won't allow Ellis to sweep him here.
Nielsen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Nielsen postures up and lands a big shot to Ellis's brow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ellis scrambles and gets back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nielsen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Nielsen is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ellis is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ellis has escaped and now he's on top!

Ellis is posturing up here but Nielsen has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Ellis tries to roll out but it's too tight and Ellis has to tap! Slick submission there by Nielsen!

Elias Nielsen spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
