Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tomas Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cormac Gutz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gutz has chosen Everyday as his entrance music. Cormac Gutz is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tomas Gunn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cormac Gutz!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunn fails with an attempt to clinch.

Gutz takes the fight into the clinch.
Gutz lands with a left to the head.

Gunn gets a trip takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Gutz is looking to improve his position.
Gutz is trying to control but can't.
Gunn working the head and body with strikes.
Gutz wants to improve his position but Gunn is controlling well.
Gunn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Gutz slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Gutz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gunn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gunn is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Gutz has managed to free his arm - good work.

Gunn is keen to just control but Gutz is a slippery customer.
Gutz is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Gunn's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Gunn's back!

Gunn tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Gutz is looking to stall here but Gunn recovers full guard.

Gunn is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gunn can't keep his opponent in guard - Gutz advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Gunn is refusing to be controlled, as Gutz sits in half guard.
Gunn misses with some strikes from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tomas Gunn will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Gunn avoids the head kick by Gutz.
Gutz feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gunn's calf.
Gunn on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Gunn fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gunn takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Gunn takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Gunn.
Gutz gets back to half guard.
Gutz is concentrating on defense, preventing Gunn from advancing position.
Gutz is looking for a sweep. Gunn is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gutz wants to control but Gunn is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Gunn is trying to work for a kimura but Gutz is defending well.
Gutz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ground and pound from Gunn.
Gutz keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Gunn moves nicely into side control.
Gutz manages to get back to half guard.
Gutz is breathing heavily.

Gunn moves into full mount! Gutz won't be happy about that!

Gunn lands a big elbow.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gunn is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Gutz has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Gutz is in a horrible position here. Gunn smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Tomas Gunn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Gunn lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Gunn swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
