Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lex Luthor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Botello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Botello has chosen Candlekeep as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lex Luthor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Botello!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Daniel Cesar and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luthor bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Luthor throws a sloppy head kick and Botello moves out of range easily.
A low kick from Luthor misses
and Botello counters with a nice leg kick.
Botello closes the distance and clinches up with Luthor, looking for a takedown. Botello pushes Luthor against the cage but Luthor circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Lex Luthor.
Botello changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Luthor tries to avoid it but Botello manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Luthor to the ground. Luthor escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lex Luthor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Botello.
Luthor throws a wild body kick that Botello sees coming a mile off.
Botello tries to score a power double leg takedown but Luthor sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Botello somewhat.

Luthor throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Botello moves out of range of the body kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That kick from Luthor tenderised Botello's leg. Botello is trying to keep his angry face on.

and Botello counters with a left to the body.
Botello shoots in looking for a takedown. Luthor tries to sprawl out of it but Botello keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Luthor manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Botello fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Luthor, pushing him back against the cage.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Botello goes for a takedown attempt but Luthor pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

That was a close round but I would say that Lex Luthor will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
