PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rover Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mclovin Mclovin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gracie might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Desperado by Los Lobos. Mclovin is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bulls On Parade . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mclovin lunges at Gracie with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Gracie's hand.
Mclovin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gracie.
Gracie catches Mclovin with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Mclovin looks to land a combination but Gracie avoids it well.
The fighters circling - Mclovin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gracie looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Gracie tries to sprawl but Mclovin drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Mclovin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gracie is just riding it out for now. Mclovin eventually gives up the hold.

Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mclovin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Mclovin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mclovin has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted.

Gracie isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Mclovin stacks Gracie on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Mclovin !

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mclovin Mclovin was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Mclovin throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Gracie on the side of the head.

Mclovin fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gracie to the ground. Mclovin is now in Gracie's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gracie is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mclovin is aware though and is defending well.

Mclovin thows a huge punch but Gracie dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gracie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Gracie is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Mclovin still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Mclovin has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Mclovin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Mclovin stalks Gracie and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gracie's face. Gracie staggers backwards, shaken.

Gracie takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Mclovin lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Mclovin .

Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mclovin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Mclovin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mclovin manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Mclovin 's guard.

Mclovin has his foot on Gracie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gracie works his way back into a safe position though.
