PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Learmont (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bill Hick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Learmont comes into the arena with Dj Medhi - Signature blaring out of the sound system. Hick has chosen adam sandler - at a meduim pace as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hick moves in looking to clinch but Learmont pushes him off.
A nice leg kick lands there from Hick.
Learmont rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hick moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Hick.
Hick lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Hick pushes Learmont away with a front kick.
Learmont is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hick digs a good hook to Learmont's body.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hick, as that shot connected.

Hick gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Hick lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

It looks like Steve Learmont has been cut.

Oh Learmont is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hick creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Learmont's defenses.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hick creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Hick is pushing Learmont up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Hick lands a nice elbow.

Learmont tries to pull guard but Hick holds him up against the cage and eventually Learmont drops back down to his feet.
Learmont takes a knee to the side of the body.

Hick lands an elbow that stopped Learmont in his tracks for a moment.
Hick lands an elbow inside that Learmont shrugs off.

Learmont tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hick just stands there and leans against the cage.
Learmont takes a knee right on the jaw!
Hick has Learmont pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Learmont is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Hick - that's hurt Learmont badly! Oh, another knee lands and Learmont is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Learmont doesn't seem to be complaining.
