Michael Krauss is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Krauss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sam Malik!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Malik darts in and clinches Krauss up against the cage.
Krauss jumps guard but Malik turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Krauss is looking for a takedown.
Malik is trying to break the clinch but Krauss is controlling him.

Malik manages to break the clinch.
Malik misses with a double jab.
Malik misses with a two punch combination.
Malik tries to clinch up but Krauss circles away and keeps his distance.
Malik stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Krauss. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Malik tries to bum rush Krauss with a series of wild strikes but Krauss uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Krauss shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Malik misses with a few strikes there.
Malik misses with the combination.
Malik throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Krauss counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Krauss throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Malik is not content to let Krauss control the position.

Krauss thows a huge punch but Malik dodges it nicely.
Krauss is trying to control. Malik wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Krauss is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Krauss has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Malik is not content to let Krauss control the position.

Krauss is looking for a kimura but Malik is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Krauss to get the leverage.

Krauss is trying to work for a kimura but Malik is defending well.

Krauss is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Krauss is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Malik is just riding it out for now. Krauss eventually gives up the hold.

Krauss is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Krauss is just content to waste time from the top position. Malik takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Krauss wants to control from the top but Malik keeps moving.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Krauss is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Krauss looking to sit in guard and control but Malik gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Krauss is controlling Malik's posture.

Malik stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Malik throws a combination that misses

and Krauss counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Krauss tries to pass the half guard into mount. Malik knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Krauss is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Malik sees it coming and defends easily.
Krauss is looking to stall here but Malik recovers full guard.
Krauss is looking to work some ground and pound but Malik has wrist control.
Krauss throwing strikes from guard but Malik blocks nicely.
Krauss sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Krauss wants to control from the top but Malik keeps moving.
Krauss wants to stand and escape but instead Malik has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Malik gets to his feet. Krauss looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
A punch combination from Malik misses.
Malik lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Krauss backs up against the cage.


It looks like Michael Krauss has been cut.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.
Malik throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Krauss counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Krauss throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Krauss has gone for a leg lock! Malik slips out almost immediately though and dives into Krauss's guard.
Malik wants to get up but he can't break Krauss's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Malik stands up from Krauss's guard - Malik perhaps looking for a knockout.
Sam Malik is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Malik connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Malik tries to clinch there but Krauss circles away.
Malik throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Krauss.
Malik throws a left and a right that both miss

and Krauss counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Krauss in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Krauss wants to control from the top but Malik keeps moving.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Malik is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Krauss is controlling him.

That's nine minutes gone in the round.
Malik working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Krauss.
Krauss is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Michael Krauss just wasn't active enough.
Malik stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Malik wants it to stay on the feet.
Nice takedown defense from Malik. No joy for Krauss on that attempt.
Krauss is breathing heavily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Malik throws a right and a left that both miss.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Malik and Krauss goes tumbling to the canvas! Malik follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.


Krauss is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Malik stands up from half guard.
Oh Krauss is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Krauss shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Malik as he avoids it easily.
Malik looks to land a combination but Krauss avoids it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Sam Malik will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Michael Krauss's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Malik feints with a jab and clips Krauss right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Krauss is sent crashing into the canvas and Malik leaps in for the kill! Krauss tries to get to his feet but Malik is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Krauss is in need of a savior and steps in!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sam Malik!
