Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joze Mesar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aaron Koscheck!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mesar throws a big shot that misses.

Koscheck darts in and clinches Mesar up against the cage.
Mesar wants to break the clinch but can't.
Mesar is trying to break free.

Koscheck's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Koscheck avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Mesar misses with a few strikes there.
Mesar swinging wildly here.
Mesar lands a jab.
Koscheck fails with a takedown attempt.
Mesar throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Mesar ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mesar missing with a left hand there. Koscheck was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Koscheck fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Mesar motions for Koscheck to come forward. Mesar throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Mesar lands an overhand right.
Mesar scores with a jab.
The crowd cheers as Mesar lands an impressive looking overhand right. Koscheck doesn't seem phased though.
Jab, jab by Mesar - just one landing.
Joze Mesar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mesar tries to clinch there but Koscheck circles away.
Koscheck fails with a takedown attempt.
Joze Mesar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aaron Koscheck.
Koscheck ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Koscheck uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mesar.
Joze Mesar is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mesar throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Koscheck showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mesar.
Mesar with a jab.
Koscheck closes the distance and clinches up with Mesar, looking for a takedown. Koscheck pushes Mesar against the cage but Mesar circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sloppy strikes from Mesar. Those never looked like landing.
Mesar throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Koscheck counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Koscheck slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Mesar can't keep his opponent in guard - Koscheck advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Koscheck is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Aaron Koscheck.

Koscheck dives in and scores a takedown into Mesar's guard.
Koscheck seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mesar wants to control but Koscheck is keeping busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Aaron Koscheck will probably get the nod.

and Koscheck counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Koscheck moves forwards but Mesar connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Mesar tries to work over Koscheck's front leg with a kick but Koscheck checks it.
Mesar dodges the punch combination from Koscheck.
Koscheck looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Mesar rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Koscheck moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Koscheck moves into the clinch successfully.

Koscheck jumps into guard, dragging Mesar to the mat.
Aaron Koscheck has got the better of the ground game so far.

Koscheck looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Mesar is defending well. Koscheck quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Mesar has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Koscheck celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Aaron Koscheck!
