PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dutch Haze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samurai Jack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Haze 's entrance music is i stand alone. A fine choice. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dutch Haze !
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Samurai Jack!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haze shoots in and drives through. Jack sprawls well.
Jack's jab looks to have found its range, popping Haze under the eye.
Haze looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
That kick from Jack tenderised Haze 's leg. Haze is trying to keep his angry face on.
Jack slaps away a takedown attempt from Haze , before circling back to the center of the mat.

Haze scores a takedown into full mount!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Jack is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Haze is landing with some decent strikes but Jack is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Jack is trying to escape the mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Poor strikes thrown by Haze there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Haze won't let Jack get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Haze has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Jack's face.

Haze is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jack sees it coming and defends easily.
Jack wants to control but Haze is keeping busy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jack keeping hold of Haze 's head, controlling as best he can.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Haze shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Haze has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Jack.
Samurai Jack seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jack pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dutch Haze is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jack throws a push kick but Haze slaps the foot to one side.

The fight stays on the outside here - Jack looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Haze drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jack looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jack looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jack!
Dutch Haze overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Jack advances nicely into full mount.
Haze has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Haze is desperately trying to improve his position but Jack has a good base and remains in mount.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Haze here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Haze is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dutch Haze will probably get the nod.
That's time! Haze 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Jack will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Haze tries to pull guard but Jack forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Haze prevents a body shot from Jack.
Jack connects with a knee to the head.
Jack swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Haze working hard to break the clinch.

Haze blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Jack throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Haze blocks it with crossed arms.

A nice inside leg kick there by Jack. That's going to slow Haze down.

A head punch on the inside from Jack fails to land.

Jack pushes Haze back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jack is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jack jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Jack lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Jack stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jack wants it to stay on the feet.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Haze is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jack is just riding it out for now. Haze eventually gives up the hold.

Haze looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jack with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Jack is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jack is looking to stand up but Haze isn't so interested in that idea.

Haze has gone for a leg lock! Jack slips out almost immediately though and dives into Haze 's guard.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Haze shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Jack counters with a nice body kick.
Haze will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jack attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Haze feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dutch Haze .
I think Haze has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Dutch Haze was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
