The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lesnar looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Silva trying to hold on to Lesnar's head to control him but Lesnar postures up.

Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lesnar is looking to improve his position.
Lesnar lands a couple of sideways elbows.
Silva thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Lesnar to regain full guard.

Silva is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Silva passes Lesnar's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Lesnar is looking to control Silva's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lesnar avoid being mounted?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lesnar wants to get back to full guard but Silva has passed into side control.
Lesnar swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lesnar can do anything to dispel that myth.

Silva looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Lesnar wants to hold on but Silva pushes him away.

Silva avoids the attempt from Lesnar to control.

Silva wants to finish this one by submission but Lesnar is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Silva.
Silva is breathing heavily.

Silva looking to secure an arm triangle but Lesnar defends it well.
Lesnar is desperately trying to improve his position but Silva has a good base and remains in mount.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Lesnar bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lesnar is on top in guard.

A close round but Brock Lesnar will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Silva doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Lesnar counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Lesnar not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Lesnar passes the guard and advances to mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lesnar is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Silva is rocked!
The referee warns Silva that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Oh Silva is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Lesnar postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Silva bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Lesnar and the fight is over!
