PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Kai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Flo Like Seppou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kai comes to the cage accompanied by israel kamakawiwo'ole - Hawaii '78. On his way into the cage it seems that Matt Kai has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Matt Kai seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Seppou shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Seppou takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Seppou can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kai is looking to escape.
Seppou scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Seppou moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Kai has worked his arm free - good work by Kai!
Seppou cracks Kai with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Seppou wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kai, who protects the arm well.
Kai wants to get back to his feet but Seppou is dominant here and he's now got Kai's back!

Seppou moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Kai has worked his arm free - good work by Kai!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Seppou tries to move to full mount but Kai actually manages to regain half guard.
Seppou seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kai does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Kai wants to get back to his feet.
Seppou is looking to stall here but Kai recovers full guard.
Seppouis looking to pass into half guard but Kai pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Kai is in guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Seppou has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Seppou looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kai is one step ahead there.
Seppou pulls Kai in to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Flo Like Seppou dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Seppou shoots in but no luck this time.
Kai tries to clinch there but Seppou circles away.

Kai moves into the clinch successfully.
Seppou tries to pull guard but Kai holds him up against the cage and eventually Seppou drops back down to his feet.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Kai.
Kai misses with a knee to the head.
Kai throws a knee to the head but misses.
Seppou goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kai prevents it.
Matt Kai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Flo Like Seppou.
Kai throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Seppou blocks it with crossed arms.
Seppou drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kai pulls his leg out and moves away.
Seppou tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kai swivels and escapes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Seppou.
Kai tries to close the distance and clinch up but Seppou swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Seppou is breathing heavily.
Kai wants to clinch up but Seppou keeps it at a distance.

Kai moves into the clinch.
Seppou fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Kai with a knee to the head.
Kai connects with a nasty looking knee right to Seppou's face.
Seppou drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Seppou blocks the elbow strike.
Kai connects with a knee to the head.
Kai fails to pull guard.
Kai landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Seppou tries to pull guard but Kai holds him up against the cage and eventually Seppou drops back down to his feet.
Kai with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Seppou jumps guard but Kai stands there with Seppou around his waist. Seppou gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Kai wants a takedown.
Kai looking to throw knees to the head but Seppou is blocking nicely.
Seppou tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kai smiles and moves away.

Seppou has a takedown stuffed.
Kai tries to clinch up.
Kai fails with the takedown

and Seppou counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Kai is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Seppou trying to control but Kai is working from the bottom.

Seppou slips nicely into half guard.
Seppou is stalling here. Kai is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Seppou seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Kai has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Kai stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Seppou circles away from the clinch attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kai looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kai shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Seppou counters with a takedown into side control.
Kai tries to escape but Seppou is in control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Seppou swings around for an armbar but Kai sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Seppou's guard.
Kai wants to stand but Seppou is controlling his posture from full guard.
Seppou is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Flo Like Seppou will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Seppou with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Seppou goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Kai turns into him and now he's in Seppou's guard.
Flo Like Seppou has got the better of the ground game so far.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Seppou is trying to push Kai off with his feet but Kai grabs hold of one of the legs and drops back looking for a submission! He's cranking on one of Seppou's ankles and Seppou is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaall over!
