PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Spider Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hank Venture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machida has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Spider Machida has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Venture fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Machida is breathing heavily.
A slow jab from Machida misses its intended target.
Venture tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Machida manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Machida dodges the punch combination from Venture.

Venture thows a left - swing and a miss!

Venture shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Machida is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Venture has control of Machida's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Machida regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Venture decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

The fight stays on the outside here - Venture looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Machida avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Horrible takedown by Venture or perhaps it was just good defense by Machida which made him look bad.

Venture dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Machida has had enough and taps out.
