Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Riko Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nic Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Riko Rodriguez has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Johnson looks gassed!
Rodriguez works to advance to full mount. Johnson defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Rodriguez connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Rodriguez is working for a guillotine from mount but Johnson frees his head quite easily.
Rodriguez controlling the pace for now.
Johnson tries to lock up and control but Rodriguez gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Rodriguez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Johnson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Riko Rodriguez just wasn't active enough.
Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Johnson sprawls well. Johnson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rodriguez gets slowly back to his feet.

Rodriguez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Johnson on his heels. He'll look to pass Johnson 's guard now, I'm sure.
