The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beckwith shoots in for a takedown but Obasi shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Beckwith tries to clinch but Obasi is having none of it.
A nice inside leg kick there by Beckwith. That's going to slow Obasi down.
Beckwith avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Beckwith swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Obasi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Beckwith's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Obasi drops back looking for a leg! Beckwith is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Beckwith manages to kick Obasi off! Obasi jumps back into Beckwith's guard.
Obasi is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Obasi postures up in Beckwith's guard and throws a big left but Beckwith blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Obasi is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Obasi sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Beckwith's guard.

Obasi has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Obasi misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Obasi has hold of Beckwith's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Beckwith tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Obasi cranks the arm and Beckwith screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Beckwith, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Ayila Obasi!
A relieved looking Ayila Obasi thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
