Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kurt Broughton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kevin Nash!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nash fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kevin Nash seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Broughton shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nash but Nash pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Nash has closed the distance and engaged Broughton in a clinch.

Nash works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Nash throwing strikes from guard but Broughton blocks nicely.
Broughton is trying to keep Nash in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Broughton preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Nash postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Nash throws a big elbow that misses.
Nash is looking to work some ground and pound but Broughton has wrist control.
Nash with a flurry of punches that miss.

Nash gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Broughton is breathing heavily.
Nash shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Broughton as he avoids it easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Nash clinches up against the cage.
Broughton wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nash is looking for a takedown.
Kurt Broughton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Nash.
Nash is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Broughton is defending well.
Broughton putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Nash in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Broughton gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Nash is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Nash throws his legs up looking for a submission but Broughton uses it to pass to side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nash is trying to get back to his feet.
Nash is working to avoid the ground and pound but Broughton connects with a decent elbow.
Nash gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nash can do anything to dispel that myth.

Nash is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Broughton locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Nash is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kurt Broughton!
