The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holt connects with a jab.
Welsh will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Holt throws a jab but it's blocked by Welsh.
Welsh fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Welsh swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Holt ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Welsh moves away.
Holt lands a jab.
Welsh will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Holt avoids a punch combination nicely.
A right-left combo lands from Welsh.

Welsh walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Holt checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Welsh dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Holt. That did some damage!

Holt drops Welsh with a left and a right! Oh, Welsh is hurt - Holt dives into side control looking to finish!
It looks like Johnny Welsh has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Welsh tries to buck Holt off but Holt is having none of it.
Welsh manages to work his way to half guard, despite Holt's best efforts.
Holt is looking to advance position but Welsh won't allow it.
Welsh tries to roll over but Holt keeps him under control.
Holt is trying to work for a kimura but Welsh is defending well.
Holt looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Welsh has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Holt can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Welsh is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Holt defends well.

Welsh wants to stand but Holt is controlling the position.
Welsh controls Holt momentarily but Holt frees himself.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Welsh wants to sweep here but Holt controlling him for the moment.

Holt connects with a body shot that sends Welsh's belly button to the back.

Welsh moves forwards but Holt connects with a nice, crisp jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Holt ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Welsh moves away.
Holt fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Welsh looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Holt connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Welsh tumbling to the canvas! Holt pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Welsh was done - good stoppage!
