Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jacare Souza!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jesus Gonzalez!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzalez with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Gonzalez throws a right and a left that Souza avoids nicely.
Gonzalez throws a series of punches but Souza moves out of range.
Souza connects with the punch.
Gonzalez keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Souza.
Gonzalez misses with a series of wild punches.
Gonzalez throws a low kick but it's checked well by Souza.
Gonzalez catches Souza with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Souza dodges the punch combination from Gonzalez.
Gonzalez drops Souza with a right and a left! Gonzalez comes rushing in but Souza regains his composure and manages to keep Gonzalez in guard.
Souza is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Souza looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Gonzalez passes into side control.
Oh Souza is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Souza is looking to regain half guard here but Gonzalez keeps moving and retains side control.
Souza is working hard here to advance position.
Souza seems to have got his legs back now.

Souza gets back to half guard.
Souza looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Gonzalez wants to stand up but Souza has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Souza gets back to full guard.
Souza is looking for a triangle but Gonzalez pushes his legs off easily.
Souza can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gonzalez controls the pace.
Souza looking for a guillotine here but Gonzalez defends easily.

Souza looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Souza is breathing heavily.
Gonzalez wants to stand but Souza has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Gonzalez trying to control but Souza is working from the bottom.
Gonzalez tries to free his leg and advance position but Souza is retaining full guard.
Souza escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gonzalez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Souza is looking for a triangle but Gonzalez pushes his legs off easily.

Souza tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Gonzalez trying to stand up but can't free himself from Souza's guard.
Gonzalez stopping the sweep attempt from Souza.
Gonzalez stands and steps away. Souza gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Souza thows a left - swing and a miss!
Gonzalez throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Souza.
Gonzalez cracks Souza with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Gonzalez takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Souza changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gonzalez tries to avoid it but Souza manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gonzalez to the ground. Gonzalez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gonzalez misses with a straight right.
Gonzalez cracks Souza with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Souza looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Gonzalez finish him?
Souza tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gonzalez swivels and escapes.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Souza avoids the head kick by Gonzalez.
Souza lands with a right hand.
Gonzalez rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Souza counters with a left to the body.
Souza looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jacare Souza. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Souza cracks Gonzalez with an open hand slap.
Souza throws a hook to the side of Gonzalez's head but Gonzalez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Souza takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Gonzalez moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Souza goes down! Can Gonzalez finish him!?
Souza has his foot on Gonzalez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gonzalez works his way back into a safe position though.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Souza is on top in guard.
Gonzalez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Souza is controlling him.
That's five minutes gone in the round.

Souza wants to pass the guard but Gonzalez is keeping the position.
Gonzalez working for a triangle but Souza defends it easily.
Souza pushes down on Gonzalez's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Souza is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Gonzalez tries to get to full guard but Souza has control of the leg.
That's six minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Souza working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Gonzalez's thigh. Gonzalez counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Souza throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gonzalez works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Souza throwing strikes but missing.
Gonzalez keeping full guard, as Souza tries to pass.
Souza slips nicely into half guard.
Gonzalez is looking for a sweep. Souza is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Souza is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gonzalez is just riding it out for now. Souza eventually gives up the hold.
That's seven minutes gone in the round.
Souza is working for a kimura here but Gonzalez manages to reverse the position and he's now in Souza's guard.
Gonzalez with a flurry of punches that miss.
Gonzalez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Gonzalez decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Souza throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gonzalez sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Souza misses the jab.
Gonzalez circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Souza drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Gonzalez follows Souza to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jesus Gonzalez!
