PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dave Jay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adem Cutahija (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cutahija is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Fort Minor - Remeber the name. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Adem Cutahija!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cutahija forces Jay back against the cage and clinches.

Cutahija is trying to pull guard but Jay turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Cutahija is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Jay to keep the fight standing.
Cutahija tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Jay avoids it.

Jay is trying to trip Cutahija. He has hold of a leg but Cutahija is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Jay persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cutahija can do anything to dispel that myth.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Cutahija has an active guard here but Jay has managed to pass into half guard.

Jay is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Jay is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cutahija sees it coming and defends easily.

Jay is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cutahija doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jay.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jay is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cutahija defends it well.
Jay will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jay jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Cutahija is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Cutahija and Jay has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Jay wants to control but Cutahija is keeping him busy.

Jay swings around for an armbar but Cutahija sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jay's guard.
Cutahija must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jay has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Cutahija is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Jay.

Jay closes the distance and clinches up with Cutahija, looking for a takedown. Jay pushes Cutahija against the cage but Cutahija circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Cutahija has control of Jay's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Jay regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Jay really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jay sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Cutahija's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adem Cutahija showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jay goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Cutahija rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Jay's guard! Nice work there by Cutahija!

Oh but Jay is tightening it up a little... Cutahija has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Cutahija reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Cutahija taps out! Nice BJJ there by Jay!

A relieved looking Dave Jay thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
