These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nickatina throws a right and a left that both miss.

Cartman lands a left and a right that sends Nickatina crashing to the canvas! Cartman dives into mount looking to finish!

It looks like Andre Nickatina has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Cartman stands up from mount. Strange move.
Oh Nickatina is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Nickatina rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cartman moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Cartman wants to stand and escape but Nickatina is having none of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nickatina has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Nickatina has hold of one of Cartman's legs. Cartman is fighting the takedown attempt but Nickatina gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Cartman wants to get back to his feet but Nickatina is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
