Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Slim Jim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benjamin Liu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Kenichi Hosakawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jim fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Liu sprawls well initially but Jim persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Liu is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Jim pulls his head out easily.

Liu looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Jim is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Liu has managed to free his arm - good work.
Liu wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Liu manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Jim is breathing heavily.

Jim avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Liu looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Liu looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Jim passes into half guard.
Jim prevents Liu from improving his position.

Jim thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Liu is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Jim is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Liu working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jim doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jim manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Liu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Liu escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jim gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Liu has his feet on Jim's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Liu doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Jim counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Liu tries to roll over but Jim keeps him under control.
Liu is trying to maintain the position but Jim is very close to passing his half guard.
Liu is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Jim tries to pass to full mount but Liu defends it.

Liu looking for submissions off his back.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jim rushes Liu and presses him up against the ropes.
Liu fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Liu tries for a takedown. No joy.
Slim Jim has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Benjamin Liu.
Jim changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Liu fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Liu scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Liu passes to side control.

Liu thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Jim is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Liu is controlling him well.

Liu creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Jim is not content to let Liu control the position.

Liu is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Jim looks calm but he's in trouble here. Liu gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Jim is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Liu lets go of the hold and Jim can pop his arm back in it's socket.
