Rico has chosen Thin Lizzy - Whiskey in the jar as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz cracks a nice hook into Rico's ribs.
Rico throws a jab when Cruz was well out of range.
Cruz takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Rico ducks under a wild hook from Cruz.
Rico throws an off balance right hand
and Cruz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Rod Rico has been cut.
Cruz keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rico looks to score with a jab to the body but Cruz is just out of range.
Rico throws out a loose jab but Cruz uses good head movement to avoid it.
A nice combination there by Cruz.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rico tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cruz was well out of range. Poor timing from Rico.

The fighters circling - Rico throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Cruz throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rod Rico seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rico throws a hook to the side of Cruz's head but Cruz sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Rico stuns Cruz with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Rico throws a solid leg kick but Cruz takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Rico.

Cruz doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Rico looks up at the clock. Bad move! Cruz lands a right hand from hell, dropping Rico. Cruz pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

A relieved looking Jorge Cruz thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
