PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tiago Jorge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Canciatta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jorge comes to the ring accompanied by Tropa de Elite. Mario Canciatta told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Canciatta throws a sloppy head kick and Jorge moves out of range easily.

Jorge clinches up against the ropes.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Canciatta.
Jorge is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Canciatta pulls him back up using the underhooks.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Canciatta is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Canciatta is trying to control Jorge's posture but Jorge avoids it.

Jorge lands a decent elbow from side control.
The referee asks Jorge politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Jorge prefers to stall for the moment though.
Jorge looks up at the clock and then as Canciatta takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jorge smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Jorge has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jorge tries to score with some ground and pound. Canciatta controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Jorge lands a strong strike to the head of Canciatta. That's dazed him! Jorge looking to finish here. Canciatta is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Jorge lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

In his post fight interview, Tiago Jorge started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
