PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Iglig Bloodrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saul Laski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Iglig Bloodrock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Saul Laski!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bloodrock tries to clinch but Laski is having none of it.
Bloodrock moves in looking to clinch but Laski pushes him off.

Laski changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bloodrock looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Bloodrock takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Bloodrock gets back to half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Laski is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Laski seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Laski has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Bloodrock tries to get to full guard but Laski has control of the leg.
Laski tries to pass to full mount but Bloodrock defends it.
Laski winds up and cracks Bloodrock with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bloodrock gets back to full guard.

Bloodrock has his foot on Laski's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Laski works his way back into a safe position though.
Bloodrock is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Laski not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Laski wants to control from the top but Bloodrock keeps moving.

Bloodrock looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Bloodrock controls Laski momentarily but Laski frees himself.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Laski controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Bloodrock is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

This has been an exciting period of action!

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Saul Laski.

Bloodrock darts in and clinches Laski up against the cage.
Bloodrock tries to throw a body punch but Laski avoids it by throwing Bloodrock back against the cage.
Laski looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Bloodrock tries to work over Laski's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Bloodrock gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Laski regains guard.
Bloodrock stops Laski from standing up.
Bloodrock trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Bloodrock postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bloodrock throws a big right hand that misses.
Bloodrock trying to control but Laski is working from the bottom.
Bloodrock pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Laski is keeping the position for now.
Bloodrock looking to sit in guard and control but Laski gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Bloodrock bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Laski's guard.
Laski tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Laski pulls Bloodrock in close to prevent any damage.
Bloodrock trying to control the position from guard on top but Laski is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Laski looking for a guillotine here but Bloodrock defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bloodrock wants to pass the guard but Laski is keeping the position.
Bloodrock being controlled here momentarily.
Bloodrock wants to control from the top but Laski keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Laski holds on and takes a little breather.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Iglig Bloodrock will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Laski trying to control but Bloodrock is having none of it.
Bloodrock tries to hold on but Laski pushes him away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Laski with a couple of short strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bloodrock tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Laski is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Bloodrock can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Laski tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Bloodrock takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Laski with shots to the head and body - Bloodrock looks very uncomfortable down there.
Laski lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Laski cracks Bloodrock with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Saul Laski!
